Pak64 is the evolution of the original Simutrans pakset, which now we call pak.Classic. Many artists contributed to this pakset since the 8 bit age.

When Simutrans could only support 64px size graphics, pak128 already started. First pak to feature a complex economy and have a very wide variety of objects. It contains roughly 7 times more graphic data than pak64 and thus requires by far the largest amount of RAM and processing power of all Simutrans sets.

Brings the German transportation system embedded in typical German towns and industries according to the respective topographic region (coasts, the Alps, etc.). Trains and lorries are taller than they are in standard pak128. Every building and factory has four views and each type of factory has different aspects.

The Japanese community has always built many great objects for Simutrans. However, it was felt, that the scale of pak64 did not meet the desired level of detail. Thus pak128.Japan was designed. Trains, especially, are enhanced compared to the standard size and the graphic consistence makes this pak a work of art.

Pak64.Japan evolved from pak64 after original images were replaced by Japanese versions. You will see typical Japanese architecture and vehicles (yes! It includes the famous shinkansens!), transport rice and electronics, and, the most important, you will drive on the left.

pak128.Česko-Slovensko is being developed to bring a Czech-Slovak theme to Simutrans. This pakset brings the culture and look of Czech Republic and Slovakia to Simutrans.

Developed to give a British theme to Simutrans, this pakset features a wide range of vehicles with emphasis on rail vehicles, highly detailed stations, more accurate looking track for junctions, and a more subdued graphical appearance than the brightly coloured pak128 from which it was originally derived.

Pak192.Comic is currently the highest resolution graphic set of Simutrans, with a special comic-like look. Inspired by both pak32.comic and pak96.comic this pak features a very familiar look with its cousins, especially pak96.comic which had some developers help pak192.comic too.

Pak64.German evolved from pak64, when original images were replaced by typical German versions. You will meet brick and wooden houses, German vehicles and trees, and brew beer too. This pak is the most challenging to play and has the most consistent and most homogeneous graphics.

pak64.SciFi provides a futuristic theme for Simutrans players. Vehicles, buildings and ways seem like they came from a science fiction movie: very tall skyscrapers, buildings with a variety of shapes, powerbeam tracks, colourful terrain, exotic vegetation... It's not the Earth! It is a complete different planet!

A pak inspired by pak32.comic. Its clean, colourful and simple style reminds people of model railroading. Its graphical development tries to achieve an animated cartoon look. The gameplay focus is on continuous playing, with no waiting for profit to come but always giving the time for the player to appreciate its look.

This is dedicated to all friends who like to play the "model train" style. The trains and tracks are a little bit bigger, allowing more detailed design. Don't care for money or city growth. Switch the game to public player and build everything for yourself. Combine the objects as you would do it on a model train in your living room.

Pak96.HD is an art of its own kind - It is completely drawn by hand using pencil and paper. Each image of each object was first hand drawn on paper to be later digitalised and become a real Simutrans object.

Pak64.Classic gives the appearance of the long term stable 84.xx versions, which are still around in some distributions. Its appearance is similar to pak64, since historically it shares many buildings. However, certain aspects still tell the 8 bit heritage. Gaming is simpler, no airplanes, no stops restricting certain goods and so on.

A minimalistic pakset that focuses on massive passenger networks and urban planning. Default maintenance costs are low, and construction costs high. The player should not feel financially constrained to create creative rail solutions, but should take on the challenge of transporting large passenger flows with efficiency.
